Jimmy Chen is Managing Partner and Chief Enabling Officer of Amrop China who previously served in Amrop's Global Executive Board and chaired its Asia Pacific Region. He advises company heads and boards, leveraging decades’ experience helping companies grow values globally and in China, to differentially manage their enterprises effectively via the right design of various governing boards and leadership teams, and their right executive appointment and steering.
Before Amrop, he held global and Asia Pacific executive and business management positions with Aleris, Noveon and Dow Chemical. He led Aleris Asia Pacific and its organic growth and strategic acquisitions in the region, especially China. At Noveon (now Lubrizol), he transformed and grew both its Global Static Control Business and its APAC Region, and was a member of its Global Leadership Team that tripled its shareholder value in several years. Earlier Jimmy enjoyed a progressive career at Dow Chemical where he had global / regional business, GM and M&A leadership experience for numerous commodity and differentiated businesses.
Jimmy shares with international and local clients what it takes for different companies to succeed (or fail) in cross-culture glocalization management – from market entry, greenfield, JV, M&A, restructuring, board design to major stakeholder relationship – covering 2B and 2C industries including health, consumer, manufacturing, new retail, digital, mobility, renewables, agriculture and private equity; and spanning across private and public sectors. His accumulating China, Asia and global knowledge, coupled with continuing daily top management and consulting exchanges, allow Jimmy to use a sharing approach to advise leaders to make better decisions towards their enterprise and personal vision attainment.
Jimmy holds bachelor and master degrees from the University of Manchester and the University of Stirling. He also attended executive programs at IMD, INSEAD and the Kelley School of Business. Married with two sons and two hounds, he enjoys traveling, racket sports and helping entrepreneurs and innovative leaders achieve success, sustainability and happiness.
