Guillaume Sarkozy is an engineer, graduated from the Ecole Spéciale des Travaux Publics in 1974.
He was a Paris fireman for 3 years, project manager at the Directorate of Civil Security, and then spent 3 years at IBM as a sales engineer.
From 1979 to 2005, he was CEO and owner of several SMEs employing 200
employees that manufacture high-end upholstery fabric. This experience will allow him to know the industrial constraints in a very competitive and
internationalized profession. These companies will export more than 50% of their turnover worldwide.
At the same time, Guillaume Sarkozy leads an institutional career in the world of employers. From 1993 to 2005 he was 1st Vice-President in charge of social relations, then President of the Union of Textile Industries. He then participated in several international negotiations on the organization of world trade.
From 2000 to 2005, he was Executive Vice-President of Medef in charge of social protection, which led him to lead negotiations on the reform of the pension system in 2003-2004 and the reform of the health system in 2004.
In this capacity he was Vice-President of the CNAM (Caisse Nationale Assurance Maladie) for 3 years.
In 2006, he became General Delegate of Médéric and organized the merger with Malakoff in 2008. Malakoff Médéric, of which he will be Chief Executive Officer until the end of 2015 and Chairman of the Disability Foundation until 2021, is an insurance group (health, retirement, providence) with 6,000 employees and €30 billion in assets under management.
Throughout his career, Guillaume Sarkozy has negotiated at the highest level with the French and European public authorities as well as with the French trade union.
Since 2016, Guillaume Sarkozy has developed an investment activity in more than 25 start-ups in the insurance, finance and human relations sectors. He also sits on several boards of directors and strategic committees of companies in the insurance sectors, HR and private equity.
