Alexander Hartmann war Head of Banking Operations und Mitglied der Geschäfts-leitung der Bank Julius Bär in Zürich. Er war Mitbegründer eines Start-ups im Bereich Biometrie. Seine Spezialgebiete sind der Technologie-, der Industrie- und der schweizerische Healthcare-Sektor. Er betreut sowohl Linienmanagement- als auch Verwaltungsratsmandate.

Alexander Hartmann studierte Betriebs- und Volkswirtschaft an der Universität Göttingen, erwarb dort den Doktortitel, schloss ein Post Graduate-Studium an der Johns Hopkins Universität in Bologna ab und ist Master of Arts in Applied History der Universität Zürich. Seit 2016 ist er Mitglied des Leitenden Ausschusses des Master-Programms Applied History an der Universität Zürich.

Alexander studied business administration and economics at the University of Göttingen, where he earned his doctorate, completed a postgraduate programme at Johns Hopkins University in Bologna and holds a Master of Arts in Applied History from the University of Zurich. Since 2016, he has been a member of the steering committee of the Master's programme in Applied History at the University of Zurich.
