Scam Alert

There are a number of phishing/impersonation scams being sent across Gmail, WhatsApp and other messaging apps, where the sender impersonates an Amrop employee, promoting fake jobs or services, and trying to obtain money or personal data. In most cases, they also use fake social media (LinkedIn) profiles and 3rd party email systems (Gmail, etc), impersonating an Amrop employee.

Amrop will never contact you from a Gmail or any other private emailing system – please always verify any suspicious messages via our official domains. If someone contacts you via Gmail, WhatsApp, etc., claiming to be from Amrop and it appears to be a phishing message, we advise you to block the number/email and report the email/number via the apps.

All Amrop employees conduct themselves in a professional manner and will never make any suspicious requests. We appreciate those who have forwarded us evidence of this scam. How can you spot a phishing message?

• It’s a message that you weren’t expecting.
• It comes from a number or email address you don’t recognize or is from a private email provider (Gmail, etc).
• If it contains a link – avoid clicking it.
• It offers unusual or unrealistic salaries or working arrangements.
• They ask for money or personal details, such as your CV.
• The message is poorly written and contains spelling errors.
